About the author

Holger Sonnabend wurde 1965 in Hannover geboren und studierte dort Germanistik und Geschichte. 1993 folgte die Habilitation in Alter Geschichte. Sonnabend lehrt an der Universität Stuttgart und ist Spezialist für die historische Geographie der antiken Welt. Er ist Autor zahlreicher Sachbücher über die Kulturen der Antike und auch als Berater für historische Ausstellungen tätig.
