When Prince Divinu, a guest at the country home of Lord Bodley, is murdered in a curious and seemingly impossible way, there appears to be no obvious suspect, but His Lordship's daughter, Lady Eileen "Ally" Bodley is not about to let this stand, not in her own home.

With her friend and mentor Dingle Brannigan reluctantly lending support, Ally begins her own investigation, and what she discovers is highly irregular. But then she's a highly irregular sort of a girl herself.

Set in the late 1920's and told with a slightly tongue-in-cheek voice, this novel delights in the country life and in unexpected turns of events.
