About this audiobook

Honor and betrayal fuel a caste-shattering revolution in the action-packed new novel from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Red Rising Trilogy. Ten years after the events of Morning Star, Darrow and the Rising are battling the remaining Gold loyalist forces and are closer than ever to abolishing the color-coded caste system of Society for good. But new foes will emerge from the shadows to threaten the imperfect victory Darrow and his friends have earned. Pierce Brown expands the size and scope of his impressive Red Rising universe with new characters, enemies, and conflicts among the stars.

I was a little nervous about all the narrators when I first started the book but it grew on me. It makes it a lot easier to follow each character in my opinion. I love that this book offers more perspectives and just gives a better understanding of how diverse the universe is and all the different things going on. All the characters are very different from each other, I found myself hating Lysander and I couldn't decide on Ephriam. It's kind of cool to see the perspective of "bad" characters (enemies of the original characters). Overall one of my favorite books in the series, definitely a lot different from the others. I could just listen to it for hours!

Iron Gold shifts the Red Rising story ten years forward with new characters. It took some getting used to, but I enjoyed Lyria and Ephraim's perspectives. Lysander's story felt a bit slow. Still action-packed, but darker and more complex. Not my favourite, but it sets up an exciting new chapter.

The book is good but the female narrators voice is annoying. Not a fan of multiple narrators, should have just kept the original narrator because these other narrators take away from how good the story is. I won't listen to this again after the first time because I can't stand their voices
