L'isola del tesoro , pubblicato nel 1883, fu uno dei più celebri romanzi di avventure. Fu pubblicato inizialmente a puntate in una rivista per ragazzi. A questo libro si è ispirata in seguito molta letteratura romanzesca, oltre che adattamenti cinematografici e televisivi. La canzone “Quindici uomini” è stata poi ripresa nella commedia musicale “Derelict” del 1900, e fa da cornice musicale all’audiolibro.
