Locust and Honey
A succinct and valuable introduction to symbolic logic has been compiled here by the Wisconsin philosopher, J. Kuczynski, who seems to have distilled the "Greatest Hits" from his years of research. Occasionally, the beginning student of philosophy finds symbolic logic quite intimidating, but it need not be so. When listening to these proverbs of logic in admittedly brief, symbolized form, it may be best to take one's time and re-listen once or twice to absorb the full effect. Do not allow the abstract nature of the notation to instill fear. You can do it! In fact, it is recommended to perform the following exercise: after listening a few times to the audio version (preferably without any distraction or with minimal background noise), go ahead and listen one last time with an emphasis upon writing down each proverb. You may even want to come up with your own examples, as the author does here after plowing through the initial 20 or so examples. It may eventually help with your own retention to develop your own examples.
