About this audiobook

Bilbo Baggins is a hobbit who enjoys a comfortable and quiet life. His contentment is disturbed one day when the wizard, Gandalf, and the dwarves arrive to take him away on an adventure.

Bilbo Baggins is a hobbit who enjoys a comfortable, unambitious life, rarely travelling further than the pantry of his hobbit-hole in Bag End.

But his contentment is disturbed when the wizard, Gandalf, and a company of thirteen dwarves arrive on his doorstep one day to whisk him away on an unexpected journey ‘there and back again’. They have a plot to raid the treasure hoard of Smaug the Magnificent, a large and very dangerous dragon...

The prelude to The Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit has sold many millions of copies since its publication in 1937, establishing itself as one of the most beloved and influential books of the twentieth century.

Finally a clear spoken audio book. great when you want to read a book while driving or working. It's a shame you cant but the bundle from Hobbit to LOTR as an original set. I almost purchased tge radio play when i wanted the original book.

First Audiobook for me, and although I'm still not finished, it's been a wonderful experience. I've already read this book before, but to hear it so well narrated it's just awesome for someone that doesn't have much time. It's like having a grandpa in your pocket to read you a story whenever you feel like. Jokes aside, very entertaining and satisfying, it made it into my morning ritual as a me-time.

This audiobook is amazing! Not only the story is amazing but how it's told and... oh man! the reader makes it even better! His interpretations of the voices of the different characters, particularly Gandalf and Gollum are sublime! I loved it. Someone else commented here that it was as if your grandpa was reading the book to you, and I agree. I love everything about this audiobook.
