About the author

Jehan Tabourot, a French cleric most famous for his Orchésographie, a study of late sixteenth-century French Renaissance social dance. He was born in Dijon and died in Langres. Tabourot is also remembered for first recording music which later became known as 'Ding Dong Merrily on High' Christmas Carol.
