Audiobook: Narrators – Morgan Tyler and Leo Barnabas While I enjoyed both of these narrators, I have to give extreme compliments to Leo Barnabas’ performance as Skull. I don’t think I’ve ever listened to an audiobook where a narrator actually performed the part and that is exactly what it felt like here. There was so much passion, anger and angst that I was completely blown away by it. Admittedly, there was a time or two where it might have been too much but those moments were so few and far between that they were easy to forgive because everything else was outstanding. I saw the cover of this audiobook, read the blurb and purchased. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of cliffhangers and the fact that this ended in one stole any enjoyment I had from the story. I wish I had been warned. I liked Beth and Skull and the fact that he was so possessive and protective of her. The brothers added to my enjoyment as well. This is a rather gritty MC story that doesn’t try to make them anything than what they are. I was a bit aggravated at Beth for having not simply communicated something with Skull at some point when danger was imminent, but I would have gotten over that had it not been for the cliffie. I checked out what the next book of their story is and it appears to be a different couple and yet the continuation of this one. That only adds to my aggravation of the cliffhanger surprise. I would LOVE to know Beast’s story but as I doubt very much that I’ll be going on to book 2 here, I suspect I won’t be listening to his either. Sorry to beat a dead horse here, but do not surprise me with an incomplete story!
