About the author

Eva Ibbotson writes for both adults and children. Her books for children, with their fantastic creatures, outrageous characters, dark humour and brilliant storytelling, have much in common with Roald Dahl's. Journey to the River Sea won the Smarties Prize Gold Award and was Shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal. Some of her other young fiction titles include The Secret of Platform 13, Which Witch? and The Great Ghost Rescue.

Reader Imelda Staunton is well known internationally for her many film roles, just some of which include Shakespeare in Love, Much Ado About Nothing and Sense and Sensibility.
