This is a lush, beautifully written story that invites the reader into the mystery and keeps her guessing until the end. I loved the way the historical setting was incorporated into the story with just the right amount of detail. The characters were sympathetic, yet flawed and there was a touch of romance. The narrator has a pleasant voice and excellent storytelling skills. Very enjoyable listening.
