The Last Thing He Told Me

In the blink of an eye Hannah’s world is turned upside down when her husband Owen disappears leaving her a note with only the words ‘Protect Her” on it. Knowing this refers to his daughter Bailey, Hannah embarks on a tumultuous ride in search of the truth in this thrilling mystery from Laura Dave. I really enjoyed this story and was pulled into its pages. The mystery surrounding Owen’s disappearance appears to be clear cut after his boss is arrested for fraud, which has you thinking then he must be involved. However, as the story progresses, there is so much more to his disappearance than meets the eye and I was not expecting how it all unfolds. The relationship between Hannah and Bailey plays a big part in this story. A rocky relationship between the two, Bailey is having a tough time adjusting to Hannah in her life, as it has just been her and her dad after the death of her mother. However after Owen’s disappearance, Bailey has no choice but to work with Hannah as they try and find out where he is. The Last Thing He Told Me is a gripping read from start to finish. My attention was immediately captured and before I knew it, I was already half way through unable to tear myself away. An easy and entertaining read, which I look forward to seeing how it is going to be adapted for the small screen.
