Your ability to change everything - including yourself - starts here

Chemist Elizabeth Zott is not your average woman. In fact, Elizabeth Zott would be the first to point out that there is no such thing.

But it's the early 1960s and her all-male team at Hastings Research Institute take a very unscientific view of equality. Forced to resign, she reluctantly signs on as the host of a cooking show, Supper at Six. But her revolutionary approach to cooking, fuelled by scientific and rational commentary, grabs the attention of a nation.

Soon, a legion of overlooked housewives find themselves daring to change the status quo. One molecule at a time.

The development of the characters was brilliant, as was the story itself. I usually read historical fiction or crime based detective stories, reading to find out "who done it," but I listened to this book with the same intensity. I wanted to find out how she was going to get the acknowledgment she deserved as a woman chemist. I needed her to find the friend she never had and family to somehow materialize, and it finally did, in the form of Calvin's family. Calvin's family story, once the truth was pieced together for us readers, was tragic and heartwarming at the same time. And 6:30 was a fantastic addition to the overall story. Dogs are definitely smarter than us human animals give them credit for. I didn't want the story to end. Thank you.

Thank you Bonnie for a great book, filled with great characters. We are in desperate need for more books written with strong, intelligent female leads and support characters. Hard to explain everything I love about this book without giving away too many plot lines. I laughed, cried and identified with Elizabeth Zott and the situations she finds herself in. I have given a copy of this book to all my thinking girlfriends, which turned out to be a mistake, as my friends who normally read fluff asked why I didn't suggest this book for them? I had underestimated their ability to learn and see the wonderful gift learning and expanding you mind is. Elizabeth Zott believes all woman can better themselves and their situation, I am following this idea.
