Good essay on how the book came to be. I hadn't noticed it started with the Race riots of 1919, & the book was closer to KFC & Lee's famous Chicken.. The Black Guy wanted to give to the unfortunate, yet he would accept payment is just like the lawyer that represented him and fulfilled his duty, but his client is supposed to vote for him and find him new paying clients like he was supposed to tell whites around town the girls daddy was nice & tell white men "her price hooking" to really help her.
