Newly widowed, Victoria Blanc built an empire in Louisiana, transforming “The Magnolia” from a struggling plantation to one envied throughout the South. Her wealth and privilege protected her from scorn and ridicule. Victoria operated her southern empire proudly and in defiance of the social mores and norms men in Louisiana tried to impose upon her.

One night, her reign would come to an end in violence and bloodshed at the hands of her rivals, bothered by Victoria’s presence and desire for change. Her heirs, inheriting the land, vowed to never live in the home out of respect for her death. “The Magnolia” remained closed to the public for decades before the family decided to open it up for tours with one requirement: no one stay in the home overnight. One tour, unfortunately, had no choice. Their driver missing, blinding rains, flash floods, and violent winds would force them to take refuge in the home. They are quickly brought face to face with the horrors and violence of “The Magnolia.”
