Fantastic writing and voice acting! Lots of fun to listen to. Only possible complaint is that I felt like they over used one word... Maybe the people around me are weird, but the number of f*cks given in the book seemed excessive compared with my real life experience of talking with people.

Such a wonderful novel that weaves intricate backstory, a complex mystery, and pivotal character traits into a masterful tale of sibling love, heartbreak, morality, and hope. I felt I knew enough about Vex and Vax's backstories before going into this book, but this telling of it and the fresh story that has been weaved throughout has added so much dimension to these wonderful characters and this ever-expanding world. Props to the author, the cast, and the producing crew for making every character in this feel distinct, dynamic, and tangible in the very same way that Critical Role does at the table every week. Robbie is a stellar narrator, Liam O'Brian never fails to bring immense soul to every character he plays, and Laura Bailey remains a true master of her craft.

This story captures masterfully the essence of Vex and Vax and is brilliantly read by Robbie Daymond's pleasant and enjoyable voice. Hearing Liam O'Brien and Laura Bailey's voices as Vax and Vex make this story come even more alive. a must read/listen for every critical role fan.
