“Devastating, demanding and deeply moving.” —Wall Street Journal

The breathtaking story of five brothers who bring each other up in a world run by their own rules. As the Dunbar boys love and fight and learn to reckon with the adult world, they discover the moving secret behind their father’s disappearance.

At the center of the Dunbar family is Clay, a boy who will build a bridge—for his family, for his past, for greatness, for his sins, for a miracle.

The question is, how far is Clay willing to go? And how much can he overcome?

Written in powerfully inventive language and bursting with heart, BRIDGE OF CLAY is signature Zusak.

This is an amazing story! It brings out all sides and details of each character in such a poignant way. The story goes so deep into the details of the family, the characters, their lives, their thoughts that is so refreshing and revealing! My only complaint Is that There were so many little hands of foreshadowing in the beginning that you had no idea or reference point as to what they were about so the part One was hard to get through but then it slowly started tying it in... I just think it would have been more meaningful if we had known the story already before those little run-ins with other characters that referenced the stories that we knew nothing about yet, would have made those moments more important and memorable. But even with that it was still one of the best stories ever!
