Renko for the first time seems to catch a break, at least at first, as he gets some Caribbean sun. If you're committing to the character it's a decent story, though at times the urgency is not to the same peaks as the earlier books. Renko remains consistently interested and vivid. There is feeling of formula at play where you sense the pressure to complete the story to satisfy the publisher so a familiar narrative pokes through at times like déjá vu. Don't let it put you off, if you like traveling with Renko it's a worthwhile journey.
