About this audiobook

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER ā€¢ For the infamous, power-hungry Sith, beholden to the dark side, the time has come to rise again.

ā€œFull of lightsaber battles, the Jedi philosophy, and lots of new life-forms.ā€ā€”Chicago Sun-Times

After years of waiting in the shadows, Darth Sidious is taking the first step in his master plan to bring the Republic to its knees. Key to his scheme are the Neimoidians of the Trade Federation. Then one of his Neimoidian contacts disappears, and Sidious does not need his Force-honed instincts to suspect betrayal. He orders his apprentice, Darth Maul, to hunt the traitor down.

But he is too late. The secret has already passed into the hands of information broker Lorn Pavan, which places him right at the top of Darth Maulā€™s hit list. Then, in the labyrinthine alleyways and sewers of Coruscant, capital city of the Republic, Lorn crosses paths with Darsha Assant, a Jedi Padawan on a mission to earn her Knighthood.

Now the future of the Republic depends on Darsha and Lorn. But how can an untried Jedi and an ordinary man, stranger to the powerful ways of the Force, hope to triumph over one of the deadliest killers in the galaxy?

The book is bad, It feels like every character just gets through on either good luck good luck or things simply happen to them because of bad luck by the end, it starts becoming extremely see through as a story you start being able to predict plot points and supposed twists The voice Acting was good But the last 40 minutes drag along, Not even close to some of the Star Wars stories I've read, And it becomes quite apparent that none of the characters could ever achieve their goals unless the stories worries that come after this one simply didn't exist

Michael Reeves did an amazing job, and Sam Witwer is an amazing narrator. After listening to lockdown (which is fantastic), I first thought Sam's narration was a bit over the top, but after a short while, I started to really love it. His voice work is amazing and even the inner monologs are in the same tone/voice as the character. I'm going to miss the future Star Wars books without Sam. Anyway, Michael R. tells a great story of Maul and his interactions with how he hunts down the people involved in maintaining the Siths secret from the jedi. You'll love it.
