Rosie and Nona are sisters. Yapas. They are also best friends. It doesn’t matter that Rosie is white and Nona is Aboriginal – their family connections tie them together for life. The girls are inseparable until Nona moves away at the age of nine. By the time she returns, they’re in Year 10 and things have changed. Clare Atkins is an Australian scriptwriter and award-winning author of Nona & Me and Between Us.
Tamala Shelton is an Australian actress. Having made her professional debut in the ABC comedy Upper Middle Bogan, Tamala went on to play a main cast role in Nowhere Boys for ABC3. Tamala is also well known for playing the roles of Petra in the US drama series Reef Break and Alinta in the critically acclaimed series Cleverman. When not acting Tamala is an avid reader and writer.
