Morris Gleitzman grew up in England and came to Australia when he was 16. He was a frozen-chicken thawer, sugar-mill rolling-stock unhooker, fashion-industry trainee, student, department-store Santa, TV producer, newspaper columnist and screenwriter. Then he had a wonderful experience. He wrote a novel for young people. Now, after 42 books, he’s an internationally bestselling children’s author. In 2018 and 2019 he was the Australian Children’s Laureate.

Paul Jennings has written over one hundred stories and has been voted favourite author over forty times by children in Australia, winning every children's choice award. The top-rating television series Round the Twist and Driven Crazy are based on a selection of his enormously popular short-story collections. In 1995 he was made a Member of the Order of Australia for services to children's literature and was awarded the prestigious Dromkeen Medal in 2001. Francis Greenslade began performing with Adelaide University Footlights and has since worked extensively in theatre and television. Theatre companies he has worked for include Melbourne Theatre Company, Sydney Theatre Company, State Theatre Company and Playbox. Francis is best known for his television appearances in The Micallef Programme, Full Frontal and Pig's Breakfast.

Melissa Eccleston has appeared in various theatre productions in Australia and Ireland. Television appearances include SeaChange, Blue Heelers and The Bill. Her film credits include Dead Letter Office and several short films in Melbourne and Dublin and voiceovers for television and radio. Melissa is a writer, singer and Celtic storyteller.
