About the author

Patrice Lawrence was born in Brighton and brought up in an Italian-Trinidadian household in Mid Sussex. Patrice lives in east London and shares a cat called Stormageddon. She has been writing for as long as she has been reading. She loves crime fiction, sci-fi and trying to grow things. Her ideal mixtape includes drum 'n' bass, Bruce Springsteen and Studio Ghibli soundtracks. Music can't help creeping into her books. Her debut novel, Orangeboy, won the Waterstone's Book Prize for Older Readers and the YA Book Prize, and her second novel, Indigo Donut, won the Crime Fest Best Crime Fiction for Young Adults and was shortlisted for the YA Book Prize.

Matthew is a British actor and voiceover artist. Since graduating from East 15 Acting School in 2017, Matthew has worked extensively on stage, screen, and behind the mic. Recent credits include The Play What I Wrote (stage), Dead Girls Rising (stage), Doc Martin (TV) and The Burying Party (Film). Matthew’s audiobook credits include Aftershocks by Anne Fine, When I See Blue by Lily Bailey and Hiding Him by Adam Hatton. He’s also voiced characters in video games such as Baldur's Gate III and Tintin Reporter: Cigars of the Pharaoh.

Karise Yansen is an actress and voice artist based in London. She graduated from East 15 Acting School, where she was a recipient of the Jacob’s Ladder Bursary Award. Her film and television credits include Black Cake (Disney+), Wolf (Universal), Death in Paradise (BBC) and Enterprice (BBC). Stage highlights include Stoppard’s The Real Thing, Marston’s The Malcontent and a West End transfer of The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. She has voiced over 50 audiobooks and commercials for brands including Nike, Google, Spotify and NSPCC.
