About this audiobook

In the tradition of bestsellers like The Plant Paradox and The Keto Reset Diet, The Carnivore Code reveals the shocking truth about so-called healthy foods, and presents a complete program to reclaim your health with the true ancestral diet

We are living longer than ever before, but we aren’t living better—millions of people suffer from diseases like diabetes, depression, joint pain, heart disease, and autoimmune illnesses. Millions more have tried and failed to lose weight and keep it off. If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. And you know how frustrating and disheartening it is to cycle through diets, treatment plans, and prescriptions that provide little relief—and may actually add to your suffering.

There is a better way, and it starts with the food you eat. The carnivore diet is scientifically proven to reduce inflammation, improve sleep, reduce joint pain, improve mental clarity, and help you lose weight. Dr. Paul Saladino has experienced the incredible benefits of a meat-based diet firsthand, and has helped hundreds of patients transform their health using his diet plan.

In this groundbreaking book, Dr. Saladino reveals the shocking truth about foods we’re told are essential for good health, like whole grains, plants, and leafy greens. He dismantles those myths one by one and reveals the healing potential of an all-meat diet: the diet our bodies were designed to eat. With step-by-step guidance, complete with sample meal plans and frequently asked questions, The Carnivore Code is the only plan you need to experience the incredible benefits of the carnivore diet for yourself.

I am Keto/Ketovore and fully support those on a Carnivore lifestyle. I found Saladino’s argument for living Carnivore not substantiated enough for me. His position is that the chemical defenses evolved by plants are the cause of metabolic dysfunction. His argument should include the dangers of carbohydrates. Both arguments together make a powerful case. I found many statements to be less than convincing. When a weatherman says that it COULD rain tomorrow, I do not change my plans. If the weatherman says it WILL rain, I pay attention. When Saladino says that a plant could cause… or might cause… without a specific, documented probability, I find it lacking. (Is it 20% of people that have been shown to have a problem with… or is it 90%?) There are far too many instances using “could” or “might”. I am also suspicious when someone says “most people…” or “many people…”. Is it 8 out of 10 people? Is there data to support “most people”? It is mentioned that grilling meat can be detrimental. Does he realize grilling does not mean high temperature? I grill food at low temperatures, 200 to 220 degrees. He supports using other cooking methods. You know, those methods can be used to cook at high temperatures. Saladino also mentions having a bowel movement like clockwork is a carnivore advantage. I disagree. I have never been one of those as a carb-heavy eater or Keto person. I have read plenty of books that state support for this position. What’s important is the ease of having a bowel movement and the quality. As a disclaimer, I need to state that I listened to the audiobook and was not able to pull up any reference charts. I also do not know if there are studies referenced throughout the book. Saladino’s book is an interesting read from his perspective. For me, it is not the argument I would use to support living as a Carnivore.

A wealth of information - Dr.Saladino is thorough, discusses information intelligently and with enthusiasm. Excellent stuff 👍. (frustratingly, each chapter repeats - this is quite annoying having to open the app to then skip through to the next chapter. The book is great, but this needs fixing)
