Falling leaves, clear crisp mornings, early snow flurries in the forecast… Autumn has arrived in Williamsport and the annual hunting season has opened.

Zora Flynn, owner of the local newspaper, has planned a series of stories about hunting in cottage country. But when she stumbles on two corpses before the first interview, it’s obvious that more than wild game has been killed.

Sonny Rigg, a teenage delinquent with a long history of foolish shenanigans, is making a big effort to redeem himself. But he’s the number one suspect in the latest murder.

Zora is worried. She believes that, instead of being the culprit, Sonny is likely the killer’s next target. Against their better judgment, Zora and the reporters set out to clear Sonny's name and bring the real killer to justice.
