Praxis Duveen is a survivor. At five years old, in 1920s England, she is still innocent, the product of an unstable mother and a flighty father who abandoned Praxis and her half-crazy sister, Hypatia. As the decades fly by, Praxis experiences many incarnations, from prostitute to rape victim, wife to adulteress and eventually becomes the accidental leader of an international women's movement. Now, from her dingy basement apartment, where she's attempting to write a memoir, Praxis tells about the story of her remarkable journey – peppered with more than a few detours along the way ...

Fay Weldon is a novelist, screenwriter and cultural journalist. Her novels include ‘The Life and Loves of a She-Devil’, ‘Puffball’, ‘Big Women’ and ‘Rhode Island Blues’. She has also published her autobiography ‘Auto da Fay’. Her most recent novel was the critically acclaimed ‘She May Not Leave’. She lives in Dorset. Fay Weldon was brought up in New Zealand. She read Economics and Psychology at the University of St Andrews, and worked briefly for the Foreign Office in London. She later began to write full-time. She received an honorary doctorate from the University of St Andrews in 1990. In 2001 she was awarded a CBE. She lives in Dorset with her husband, the poet Nick Fox.

Originally from Australia, Cat Gould has now settled in Southern Oregon where she completed her BFA in Performance with a Creative Writing Minor at SOU. Cat is a passionate story teller and enjoys the wealth of opportunities in our community to write, perform and witness stories. Through the use of IPA and research she is adept at creating authentic and unique dialects that bring depth and context to her characters. She has performed many roles in over 20 regional productions from Lady Macbeth, to Clytemnestra in the Greek tragedy The Oresteia and Fraulein Kost in Cabaret. Her love of language and communication of the human condition makes her a dedicated artist of the written word. She uses James Joyce’s novel Finnegans Wake to find names for her dogs.
