Sekoa is a male lion who shares with humans the misfortune of being a bearer of the HIV/AIDS virus. He has lost his place as the alpha male in his pride, and now, weakened by disease and harassed by hyenas, he seeks only a place to die in peace.
Leo Painter, the CEO of a large development firm, has traveled to Botswana to consult with the government about accessing their extractable resources. Pursued by his own βhyenas,β Painter wishes only to find a last resting place where he can further his dream: to build a resort-casino on Botswanaβs Chobe River.

Frederick Ramsay was born in Baltimore and received a doctorate from the University of Illinois. After a stint in the army, he joined the faculty of the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He is also an ordained Episcopal priest and an accomplished public speaker. In addition to the Ike Schwartz mysteries, the Botswana mysteries, and the Jerusalem mysteries, Ramsay is the author of scientific and general articles, tracts, and theses and coauthor of the Baltimore Declaration. He lives in Surprise, Arizona, with his wife and partner, Susan.
Ray Porter is a prolific voice actor that has recorded for over 100 audio books and dozens of television series, video games and video shorts. Among his wide variety of audiobook credits are The Silver Linings Playbook, The Black Hole War, and the Joe Ledger series.
