About this audiobook

Nighteyes has been trapped inside the Emerald Veil for two years.

After an attempt to use her gryphons to assassinate the king, the pridelord closed off all communication with outsiders. Two years have passed, and now gryphlets are dying left and right from a disease that the rest of the world may already have a cure for.

Along the jungle’s edge, a single starling has been tasked with stopping the silver-eyed from infecting the rest of the jungle. It’s not just the parasite Whisper has to contend with: Strange noises are coming from beneath the earth, and her home is littered with corpses from a war waged unseen beyond their borders.

When starlings start getting cut off from the murmuration, it’s up to both Nighteyes and Whisper to solve the mystery before the leader of the starlings orders entire prides culled.

Buy Pridelord today to pierce the Emerald Veil and discover the chittering secrets within!

About the author

K. Vale Nagle is alarmingly hard to kill. After surviving several pulmonary embolisms and multiple organ failure, Vale kicked their writing into high gear and saw their first short story and novel publications. When they're not writing creature fantasy or fighting for their life, they enjoy reading, archery, and exploring the Rocky Mountains with a tabby cat by their side. James has 20 years of vocal experience, first as a military radio operator and then an English teacher. In the United States Coast Guard, James excelled as a Search and Rescue radio operator, responsible for clear, unambiguous, and precise communications between rescuers and persons in distress. He then utilized his skills in multiple instructor tours, demanding the same vocal expertise and control from his students. After military service, James continued to excel in education as an ESL instructor, where his prior radio experience and vocal control proved to be an invaluable asset. Since October of 2021, James has narrated over 22 full-length titles from his home recording studio in Virginia, from versatile first-person detective narratives to action-packed fantasy epics and more.
