About the author

The author graduated student body president and valedictorian of high school, magna cum laude and Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) Honor / Leadership Society from undergraduate university, and with honors, Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society, from Georgetown University School of Medicine. She then completed an Ivy League Ophthalmology Residency at Scheie Eye Institute, University of Pennsylvania. She subsequently completed a Fellowship Subspecialty Eye Surgery Training Program at Shiley Eye Center, University of California San Diego in Cornea / Cataract, Refractive Surgery and External Disease. She taught residents eye surgery at UCSD as the attending surgeon. She has received eye surgery training and/or performed eye surgery throughout the world, including Moorfields Eye Hospital in London, United Kingdom and missionary eye surgery in Africa and is an invited guest lecturer in countries throughout the world. She has written and published multiple professional textbooks, book chapters, and professional research articles.
