Sarah Kanowski studied English at the University of Oxford, where she wrote a thesis on the Mosley family. Sarah then spent a year in South America before settling back in Australia. In Hobart she edited the literary magazine Island, until sun and grandparents beckoned her back to Brisbane where she now lives with her husband and three young children. She presented Books and Arts on ABC RN and looked after Conversations when Richard Fidler was away.

Meg Keneally started her working life as a junior public affairs officer at the Australian Consulate-General in New York, before moving to Dublin to work as a sub-editor and freelance features writer. She then joined Radio 2UE as a talkback radio producer. She lives in Sydney with her husband Craig and children Rory and Alex.
