About this audiobook

Beyond the Black River is one of the original short stories about Conan the Cimmerian, written by American author Robert E. Howard and first published in Weird Tales magazine, May-June 1935. The story was republished in the collections King Conan (Gnome Press, 1953) and Conan the Warrior (Lancer Books, 1967).

Conan is working for pay as a soldier at the frontier fort of Tuscelan. While out scouting he saves the life of Balthus, and the two become embroiled in a fight for their lives and a war against the invading picts.

Can Conan and Balthus defeat the evil sorcerer that has summoned ancient monsters and bound the pictish clans as never before?
