About this audiobook

Krishna is considered the original person and the first yogi because of His unique and unparalleled position as the Supreme Being in the Vedic tradition, embodying the divine's personal and impersonal aspects. He is regarded as the source of all creation, the primal cause of the universe, and the ultimate reality that transcends time and space. Unlike other beings or deities, Krishna is not born from any other entity, nor is He subject to the limitations of material existence. As such, He is the "original person" in the truest sense, as He is the eternal, self-manifested Supreme Personality who creates, sustains, and ultimately dissolves the universe.

The idea that Krishna is the "original person" stems from the understanding that He is the source of all existence. According to Vedic texts, especially the Bhagavad Gita and the Srimad Bhagavatam, Krishna is the Svayam Bhagavan, meaning He is the source of all divine incarnations. While He can appear in various forms and incarnations (such as Rama, Narayana, and others), Krishna is considered the original and most complete manifestation of the divine. His appearance on Earth in His human-like form is not a birth in the conventional sense but a divine descent (avatar) to guide humanity toward spiritual realization and liberation.

Sripad Jagannatha Das is a near lifelong Krishna devotee now at 71.
