But after a few years of chasing that dream, I had to grow up and get a real job. The Great Recession of the 2000s altered the course of my life forever. #2 I was 26 years old and unemployed in 2009. I had a family, a mortgage, and a life in a new and unfamiliar place with no job prospects. I felt like a total failure. I was scared, frustrated, and embarrassed. #3 I decided to create an online presence, and in January 2010, I began sharing screen recordings of what I was doing in my recording software. I renamed my blog and channel The Recording Revolution because I felt it described what I was excited about as a musician and producer. #4 I was able to make money from my content by selling video courses. I didn’t have any proof of this concept at the time, but I had a feeling it might work.
