This second book in the series is another action-packed continuation of this riveting post-apocalyptic world. Ruby continues to fight for what is right, all the while being pulled in different directions from all the people she cares about most.

Ruby is only 17, while technically an adult in her world, she is young and inexperienced. However, she carries the weight of the world on her shoulders. There were moments I got a little frustrated with her and had to remind myself how young she is. Ruby is also brave and dedicated to save as many people as she can. I'm not a fan of the love triangle, but I have to know what happens! I can honestly say there are enough turns, I don't know how the series will end. I still have my favorite characters and am rooting for a happily ever after for them, if that exists...
