About this audiobook

Originally published in 1984, this classic dystopian trilogy is a testament to the power of language and women's collective action.

The interstellar Consortium of Planets forsakes the irredeemably violent Earth, condemning the planet to economic and ecological chaos. Given one last chance to halt Earth's annihilation, women freedom fighters discover a way to rid Earth of men's brutality—but it may have come too late. In the stunning conclusion to the Native Trilogy, female linguists must once again come forward and fight for the future of humanity.

About the author

Suzette Haden Elgin (1936-2015) was an American science fiction author. The founder of the Science Fiction Poetry Association, she was considered an important figure in the field of science fiction constructed languages. Elgin was also a linguist and the author of the Gentle Art of Verbal Self-Defense series. Amy Landon is a classically trained actress with numerous off-Broadway, film, and television credits. Her voice can also be heard on many television and radio commercials. She has an easy facility with dialects, and she is happy to find that her lifelong obsession with books is matching up with her acting and vocal work.
