About the author

Swami Swarupananda (1871 - 1906) was a monastic disciple of Swami Vivekananda. He was appointed the first President of Advaita Ashrama founded by Swami Vivekananda at Mayavati, Champawat, Himalayas. He also served as the editor of Prabuddha Bharata, the monthly English spiritual journal of the Ramakrishna Order from 1898 until his untimely demise in 1906.

This English translation of the Bhagavad Gita by Swami Swarupananda undoubtedly bears the stamp of wisdom gleaned from his Spiritual Master's words and company.
