About this audiobook

"An absolutely delightful treat to savor! Relatable, sexy, and beautiful." โ€”Elena Armas, New York Times bestselling author of The Spanish Love Deception

Summer won't last forever.

Sage Byrd has lived in the coastal town of Spunes, Oregon (not to be confused with Forks, Washington) her entire life. She's learned to love her small world, with the misfit animals on her hobby farm, and her friendships with the townโ€™s inhabitants. But when her 5-year relationship ends and her ex, town-golden-boy Ian, suddenly gets engaged, Sage needs a winโ€”something that will convince everyone to stop pitying her all the time, and to put Ian in his place. The Festival of Spunes, the townโ€™s annual summer competition, would be the perfect opportunity. She just needs a partner.

Fisher Lange was a hotshot chef in New York City until the loss of his sister left him numb, grieving, and responsible for his teenage niece Indy. When Fisher loses his Michelin star along with his love of cooking, his boss sends him and Indy to Spunes on a much-needed summer sabbatical to consult on a restaurant opening. But when clashes with the townspeople threaten his last chance to redeem himself and a kiss with his new neighbor Sage leads to dating rumors, a strategic alliance might just be the best way to turn things around.

A deal is struck. Sage will improve Fisherโ€™s image in the eyes of the town and remove the roadblocks he is facing with the restaurant, and Fisher will be Sageโ€™s partner for the competition. But as their pact quickly turns into steamy rendezvous, emotional wounds begin to heal, and the pair tries to savor every moment, they start to realize that summer is racing by much faster than they would like...

Filled with spicy summer fun, small-town charm, and Big Feelings, this highly anticipated romcom is Tarah DeWittโ€™s best yet.

"Simply unputdownable. A top read for me this year!"
โ€”Elsie Silver, USA Today bestselling author of Flawless

"DeWittโ€™s sprightly narrative is by turns funny and red-hot, as Sage and Fisher, who share a love of puns, develop some serious chemistry... This is a charmer." โ€”Publishers Weekly

Oh the tears that were shed through the final portion of this book! I loved these characters, and this setting, and I love hard fought happy endings! ๐Ÿ˜ญ Fisher is the guardian for his teenage niece, whose mother died tragically three years ago. After being fired from his job, he is given a job opportunity in the tiny coastal town of Spunes, Oregon, where he meets the effervescent Sage, who decides to take these two under her wing. And, you guys! Thereโ€™s a town competition!! My absolute favorite! ๐Ÿฅฐ First of all, shout out to the Oregon Coast. It felt warmer than normal on the page, but I loved the additional fictional towns of Yoos Bay and Gandon. And Marionberries!! It donโ€™t get more Oregon that that! I loved how strong Sage was from page 1. Having grown up with family difficulties, she still seemed so centered (even if she doesnโ€™t feel like it all the time). And I loved how unapologetically she loves her quirky town. Fisher is the one that grows in this one, from feelings of hitting rock bottom in his personal and professional lives, to finding passion in what he loves, getting closer to his niece, and being so frickin ๐Ÿฅต while cooking for Sage. (That one chapter was pure ๐Ÿ”ฅ; truly hunger inducing in all the ways!) My favorite part of this book was definitely how good these two were with communication! Even the hard stuff. It definitely added to the swooniness for sure! Such a fabulous read. Iโ€™ll definitely be checking out @authortarahdewittโ€™s backlog now. Both narrators were fabulous, which comes as no surprise because I always enjoy listening to Karisa Vacker and Zachary Webber. Definitely recommend the audio! What this book is giving: โœ… Romantic comedy โœ… Dual POV โœ… Small Town โœ… Single Guardian MMC โœ… Quirky, loves her small town, adopts all the animals FMC โœ… I LOVE the library! โœ… Communication!

4.5 stars. I listened to the audio version of this book. Narrators Karissa Vicker and Zachary Webber did an outstanding job on the narration. I always love a book more when there is a deep, powerful (if you know what I mean) voice for the male character. Both voices sounded age appropriate and added to my pleasure in the book. This was such a good romance. I loved both Indy and Fisher. They were funny together, romantic together and realistic as to where their relationship was going. Fisher niece added delightfully to the book and actually became the love match for a goose in the story. I will definitely look for more by this author, because she gave me some delightful hours of entertainment. Thanks to MacMillan Audio and NetGalley for this audiobook. All thoughts are my own.

Utterly in love with the romance in this story. Big City Chef meets a small town girl, and love in a small town always melts my heart. It was such an incredible story that sucks you in until the end. I was rooting for these two to be together. This book was so cute! I really enjoyed it! The narrators were perfect, bringing the characters to life.
