Nathan Andrews, who at eight bought shoes for his dying mother (The Christmas Shoes) and as a medical student fell in love with a young heart patient (The Christmas Blessing), takes a backseat in Van Liere's latest Christmas confection. The focus this time is on Patti and Mark Addison. The Christmas Shoes and The Christmas Blessing were both adapted by CBS television into movies. She has received a Retailer's Choice Award for Fiction, a Dove Award, a Silver Angel Award, and an Audie Award for best inspirational fiction. She is also a popular conference speaker and has appeared at numerous women's and family events.
