I only half read the series 40+ years ago, I admit much of it was lost on me. But I have never forgotten about it... and now I'm relishing a story written in simpler, honest times,, No cell phones, no internet... just images of England and centuries of history. Narration is wonderful and the story resolves without flash or gimmicks. The series is a treasure!

exceptional book series beginning with over sea, under stone. I loved every aspect of the character development and was emotionally invested in the lives of the characters. Susan Cooper was brilliance from the moment pen touched paper.
