Definitely less grounded than the author's previous writing. If you enjoyed the final 3 books in The Expanse, you'll definitely like this. I very much can't wait to see where the story goes from here. It's operating on a very grand scale. A good origin story and world building novel exploring the twisted perspectives of humanity's captors.

It was difficult to follow entirely with such a large cast. I think the larger universe is the most interesting aspects. not sure if I'll continue with this new series or not.

Thoroughly pleased to be back in space with James S. A. Corey. I will be rereading this book sooner rather than later. 🌌
About the author
James S.A. Corey is the pen name for a collaboration between Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck. James is Daniel's middle name, Corey is Ty's middle name, and S.A. are Daniel's daughter's initials. James' current project is a series of science fiction novels called The Expanse Series. They are also the authors of Honor Among Thieves: Star Wars (Empire and Rebellion).
