She chronicles the many obstacles she faced throughout her life including feelings of abandonment and loss, a string of failed relationships, and addiction to alcohol.

Dolly Baker was born in Queens, New York. She was later relocated to South Hill, Virginia, in August of 1995, through the foster care system. As a single mother of three, Baker strives to influence others by her life story and her journey to self-love.
