H. R. F. Keating (1926â2011) wrote numerous novels as well as plays and nonfiction but is perhaps most famous for the Inspector Ghote series set in India, the first of which, The Perfect Murder, won a Crime Writersâ Association Gold Dagger Award and was made into a film by Merchant & Ivory. H. R. F. Keating was the crime booksâ reviewer for the Times for fifteen years. He served as chairman of the Crime Writersâ Association and the Society of Authors and in 1987 was elected president of the Detection Club. He was married to the actress Sheila Mitchell, had three sons and one daughter, and lived in London.
Frederick Davidson (1932â2005), also known as David Case, was one of the most prolific readers in the audiobook industry, recording more than eight hundred audiobooks in his lifetime, including over two hundred for Blackstone Audio. Born in London, he trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and performed for many years in radio plays for the British Broadcasting Company before coming to America in 1976. He received AudioFileâs Golden Voice Award and numerous Earphones Awards and was nominated for a Grammy for his readings.
