About the author

Lord Byron (1788–1824) was an English poet and a leading figure in the Romantic movement. Infamous during his lifetime for his numerous love affairs and decadent lifestyle, Byron exiled himself to Italy and later Greece, where he died of a fever at the age of 36. Some of his best-known poems include the epic Don Juan, She Walks in Beauty, and Childe Harold's Pilgrimage.
