The Scriptural Panoramist

Mark Twain is one of the most important figures in American life and American culture as a whole. He is connected by the innumerable threads with the course of development of the country, its national characteristics and social contradictions, and this deep connection significantly extends throughout his work.

This short story, called “The Scriptural Panoramist”, tells about a man who earns a living, showing in the churches different panoramas in the biblical theme and commenting them. Once he hired an old man, to play the piano, accompanying the pictures with a suitable melody. And the old musician actually did it... But the melodies selection has been very peculiar.
