Probably my alltime favorite series from my childhood (and honestly after rereading, still is). It tickles all my favorite genres and tropes; clash of technology and nature, rebuilding the world after society collapses (not so much dystopia but the aftermath of dystopia), found family, and the aliens, mutants, and monsters strain sci-fi. And for the record, it is SO much better than the animated adaptation. The world is so much more vibrant and the relationships between characters are much more natural, and loving. The illustrations in the physical copy absolutely bring the whole thing to life and the original designs are so much stronger than the show's adaptation. 100% recommend
