The day Clay Shelton is set to be hanged, he requests to speak with the inspector who arrested him, Arnold “Betcher” Long. He tells Long that the Gallows Hand will have its revenge. Edgar Wallace (1875–1932) was a prolific British crime writer, journalist, and playwright who wrote 175 novels, twenty-four plays, and countless articles in newspapers and journals. Over 160 films have been made of his novels, which is more than any other author. He is most famous today as the cocreator of King Kong, writing the early screenplay and story for the movie.
Tom Woosnam was born in England where he received his bachelor of science in physics from Imperial College, London. He has lived in the US since 1975 and taught high school physics and math before retiring with his wife, Julia, in Ashland, Oregon, in 2019. His avocation is acting. He has performed in over fifty amateur and professional productions, including eight Oxfordian plays.
