About the author

Born in 1840, Thomas Hardy originally studied to be an architect, and began his writing career in 1865. His famous novels include FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD, JUDE THE OBSCURE and TESS OF THE D'URBERVILLES. He died in 1928.
