Recommended Long story, but my earliest life experiences included being evacuated from a cold war conflict. This book explains my secondary interests. And why I became a contributor to international open-source conflict investigations since before Assad gassed men, women, and children in 2013. Which was immediately followed by disinformation on Kremlin media, using some of the same anti-western cult activists who'd provided similar evil services to dictatorships during the Bosnian genocide.

Thomas Rid is a professor at Johns Hopkins University. He is the author most recently of the acclaimed Rise of the Machines (2016), a history of cybernetics. He testified on disinformation in front of the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence
