5 brilliant stars! Review by Nancy Late Night Reviewer Up All Night w/ Books Blog An all-consuming, heart melting, sweep you off your feet romance. Tinsel by Devney Perry is absolutely phenomenal! The fourth and final book in the Lark Cove series, Tinsel can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the entire series in order. You will love the book that much more! If you read any of the previous books then you went into this book like I did, strongly disliking Sofia Kendrick. Sofia has everything and anything she could possibly want. She is a princess and lives up to the name. Shallow and superficial, never really aspiring to do anything until her world gets turned on its axis. After her flaws are spread in a magazine for everyone to see, Sofia runs away to hide out in Lark Cove with her brother and sister-in-law, not knowing who she is or what she wants out of life. She is the definition of the saying— money doesn’t buy you happiness. I wasn’t sure there was a redeemable quality in Sofia but the more I read the more I felt for her. Little by little she won me over. I kept rooting for her to find happiness and live the life she was destined for. Dakota Magee, swoon, isn’t just the hot bartender in Lark Cove, he is so much more. I think I fell in love with Dakota the moment I started the book. Dakota is everything you would want in a partner— he is strong, hardworking, sweet and caring. Struggling with his family and the life they want him to live, he is torn between finding his happiness and making his family proud. Growing up in a reservation, there were certain expectations from him, like finding a wife from the reservation and not an outsider like Sofia. The woman he is currently stuck babysitting. Dakota had already disappointed his family once, the moment he walked out of the reservation. Was he willing to give up his family to chase a romance that might not even work? This book gave me all the feels! Dakota is probably my favorite hero in the Lark Cove series. He made this story come to life. Dakota and Sofia had so much going against them. This book is about two very different people fighting for a love they found in each other. A love that wasn’t defined by social status and different backgrounds. I rooted so hard for these two. I wanted to see them make a life together.and was so happy to see them find their happily ever after! Devney Perry did not miss a beat with this book. I am so sad to leave these characters but I am looking forward to re-reads in the near future!

Haven't had a chance to listen to the audio, so here's my review of the book: Oh my gawd! This book literally shredded my heart! It was a slow process the started with just a tug and a pull that then escalated into a full on ravaging. And then, just as only this author can do it, with one of the most amazing epilogues, it was put back together more perfect and fuller than when I began. This is the type of story that an addicted romance reader such as myself hungers for. The kind that will take you from a barroom littered with peanut shells to a place where the impossible is possible and black boxes no longer exist. My heart hurt for Sofia and all that she had pushed aside as she was forced into the woman that she has become. I felt her pain and humiliation as this story opens. The words written to describe it so sharp and clear drawing the perfect picture of a woman completely lost as to who she really is and what her life had to offer. I’ve never before read a story where the heroine finds herself written in such a heartfelt way. Never cared enough about another character like I did Sofia. I was totally invested in her journey and how she would find joy in her life. Dakota had similar struggles. He’s fighting his past and the expectations that have been placed on him all his life. With a dream for his future his days and nights are spent working towards that goal. I loved how, despite his initial frustration and impressions of Sofia, he recognized that he needed to take care with her. And that decision made all the difference. He became the man that didn’t make her stronger but that encouraged her to find the strength she already held within herself. Forget sexy times, those were the swoony moments in this story. While this author tends to lace her books with some angst, I can’t recall another that held the level that Tinsel did. I teared up, I cried silent tears and then I flat out sobbed all because this couple were so perfect for each other. Their struggle pierced my heart and I experienced every emotion they did as they both fought to do what was right, what their individual lives required, and most of all to secure a future together. There might have been a time or two between the tears that I cursed this author for making me care so much. This book flows from scene to scene without ever feeling heavy handed. Once I started I couldn’t stop and before I knew it I had reached its conclusion. Yes, there is definitely steam here, the best kind, but with a Deveny Perry book it’s about so much more. This author outshines herself with each new release and actually sets the bar higher for herself. And I know I’ve said it with each book in this series, but this one truly is the best of them all.

A filthy rich princess and a hardworking bartender forced to work together in a small town. SIGN ME UP! I'm a hardcore fan of Davney Perry's books and every single one she releases I love. With Tinsel was no different! The story is amazing! Dakota is a simple man with big dreams. He's working hard to achieve his goals, going against what his family had planned for him his whole life. Sofia is lost after a reality check. She's in Lark Cove to lick her wounds, and, apparently, to work her way to a better person. Her babysitter? Oh, that'll be Dakota. He's not happy about it, but Sofia is too beautiful and sweet to just ignore. Just trust me and read it!
