關於這本有聲書

Some secrets never die. They're just locked away. Alex Dale is lost. Destructive habits have cost her a marriage and a journalism career. All she has left is her routine: a morning run until her body aches, then a few hours of forgettable work before the past grabs hold and drags her down. Every day is treading water, every night is drowning. Until Alex discovers Amy Stevenson. Amy Stevenson, who was just another girl from a nearby town until the day she was found after a merciless assault. Amy Stevenson, who has been in a coma for fifteen years, forgotten by the world. Who, unbeknownst to her doctors, remains locked inside her body, conscious but paralysed, reliving the past. Soon Alex's routine includes visiting hours at the hospital, then interviews with the original suspects in the attack. But what starts as a reporter's story becomes a personal obsession. How do you solve a crime when the only witness lived, but cannot tell the tale? Unable to tear herself away from uncovering the unspeakable truth, Alex realises she's not just chasing a story she's seeking salvation. Shifting from present to past and back again, Try Not to Breathe unfolds layer by layer until its heart-stopping conclusion. The result is an utterly immersive, unforgettable debut.

關於作者

Holly Seddon is a freelance journalist whose work has been published on national newspaper websites, magazines and leading consumer websites. As a mother of four, Holly divides her time between writing articles, walking her miniature Schnauzer and chasing homework-evaders around the room. And then doing some more writing when night falls.

Katy Sobey trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and has since worked in theatre, television, radio and audio. Theatre credits include: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Woodlanders and King John. On television Katy featured in BBC 1’s The Indian Doctor. For BBC Radio 4, she has appeared in several radio plays and various episodes of Poetry Please. Katy has also recorded numerous audiobooks, including the Isadora Moon series and various novels by Fiona McIntosh and Sheila Newberry.

Lucy Middleweek is a talent agent and actress. Her acting career started as the young starlet in The Night Before Christmas (circa. Dec 1985). Four years as a professional actress later, followed by a brief stint in TV / film casting, Lucy found her calling while working as an agent's assistant. In 2008 she set up Hoxton Street Management and now co-runs Middleweek Newton Talent Management. Lucy has also provided her voice to audiobooks and the video game Haze.

Jot Davies was brought up by teacher parents in Kenya, Colombia and the Isle of Wight. He eventually studied Modern and Medieval Languages at Cambridge University where he acted in and directed probably too many plays. After touring with the Footlights in his final year, Jot joined the BBC Radio Drama Company and cut his audio teeth in plays, live comedy shows and readings. It was a natural and welcome step into audiobooks and now he is an award-winning narrator, across most genres, with well over a hundred books to his name.
