Classic Minimalism that continues to be relevant in the 21st century. Every time I read "Walden", I rethink my personal values to come away from the book with a renewed perspective on what truly matters in my life.

Brilliant in its own right, noting things the rest of us so accustomed to civilization would otherwise pass by, but difficult to grasp the language

Deep reflections on modern north american society from rural/agricultural perspective. Anti slavery, all sorts of slavery and/or serfdom. Very contemporary, essential reading.
