About this audiobook

This late pet will forever defend her loved ones. So when ungrateful kitties replace her on Earth, will she convince others to see their evil side?

Even in the afterlife, Jem the calico cat is fiercely protective of her family. So when she sees the new kittens they’ve adopted are up to no good, she believes her old home is in danger. And when Jem is told she must finally learn the ways of playtime, she’s outraged her teachers are the naughty young rascals.

Begrudgingly agreeing to study the little scoundrels, Jem’s claws come out after they knowingly stop their shenanigans whenever the cameras turn on. And when none of the cats in the hereafter believe her accusations, this departed pet will have to take matters into her own paws.

Will this loyal whiskered ghost put these feisty felines in their place?

The Sharpest Claw is the second book in the heartwarming Cats of the Afterlife middle grade fantasy series. If you like rowdy personalities, crazy adventures, and life-changing lessons, you’ll love Wendy Ledger’s un-fur-gettable story.

Here we have another cute, fun story of the entirely (not) utopia of the afterlife of cats. Although I really enjoyed her narration of the first book, here Kae Marie Denino's work leaves something to be desired. In fairness, her voices are still very good. Even her male voices are believable. Her vocal inflections are skillful and her tempo shifts are passable. The problem is the pauses. There are a lot of random (and excessively lengthy) pauses that really jar the flow of the audiobook.
